HAKA Entertainment was set up in 2017 by Huw Bates and Kedma Macias who have combined their skillsets in the worlds of business and entertainment to create a fresh, dynamic and unique agency. HAKA stands for “Huw and Kedma’s Agency” – it’s as simple as that!
In 2018 HAKA took on their first additional team-member, Rosie Palmer, who is now Head of Artist Liaison.
Here’s a bit more information about Huw, Kedma and Rosie.
Huw Bates comes from a legal background and is one of the founders of the EGO magazine, which is based in Aberystwyth.
He was manager of (and performer with) Elinor Powell’s Sgarmes when they reached the live final of BBC One’s Pitch Battle and is a regular performer with well-renowned theatre company, the Wardens.
Huw is an accomplished MC and is also the host of Taron Egerton’s charity film screening nights at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
Huw is proud to be a part of Haka Entertainment and hopes that it will be a vessel to showcase some of the best talent in Wales and beyond, for many years to come.

Kedma Macias is a vocalist from Aberystwyth, with many years of professional experience in the music industry behind her.
Kedma shared a stage with Motown legend Jermaine Jackson during the live final of BBC One’s Pitch Battle with Elinor Powell’s Sgarmes and who can forget her explosive performance of Queen’s “Somebody to love”, which had the judges out of their seats (and Gareth Malone standing on his desk!)?
Kedma has a First Class Honours Degree in Popular Music Performance from BIMM LONDON and, since graduating, has worked extensively as a session musician.
More recently, Kedma has been working on her debut EP, which features the musical talents of Musical Director and multi instrumentalist Mo Pleasure (Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Ray Charles).

She is a journalism graduate from the University of Westminster, London. During her time in the city she worked in business journalism, then branching out into radio at BBC Suffolk.
Now, happily living in Aberystwyth with her family she is excited to be on board with HAKA and the entertainment industry.
